The current museum institution, which informally began in the 1980s, received public recognition in 1996 as the \u201cMuseum of the Territory of the Valleys and Lagoon of Venice,\u201d housed in the building of C\u00e0 Tiepola in Lugo di Campagna Lupia until 2007. <\/p>\n

The property, in fact, belonged to the owner of most of the materials constituting the museum institution that had acquired part of the real estate specifically for cultural use and for the purpose of becoming a Museum.<\/p>\n
Since the 1980s, it has been through the decisive and almost unique interest of a private individual that the collection, restoration, cataloging, and partially also the exhibition of artifacts, tools, and anything related to material culture and ethnography linked to fishing, hunting and related activities, as well as those still available in the lagoon valley areas and peri-lagoon areas of Venice, have begun.<\/p>\n
In 2008, the institution formalized its legal status with the deposit of the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws under the name \u201cMuseum of the Territory of the Lagoon of Venice \u2013 Ecomuseum Onlus\u201d and adopted the following mission: \u201cThe Museum of the Territory of the Valleys and Lagoon of Venice is a permanent private institution, non-profit, at the service of society and its development, open to the public, which conducts research on the material testimonies of man and his environment, acquires, preserves, communicates and above all exhibits them for study, education, and enjoyment.\u201d<\/p>\n
In 2009, with the support of the Municipality of Campagna Lupia and through a specific resolution that establishes to \u201cprovide adequate location for the materials [\u2026] so as to make them suitable for public opening\u201d and to \u201callocate part of the premises of the former municipal school of Lova for the establishment of the Museum of the Territory of the Valleys and the Lagoon of Venice as well as its Library\/Archive for 25 renewable years,\u201d the setup of the museum location at the building in Lova of Campagna Lupia begins.<\/p>\n
Since the 80s, in fact, it has been for the decided and almost unique interest of a private person who have begun the collection, restoration, cataloging and in part also the exhibition of artifacts, tools and anything else related to the material culture and ethnography related to fishing, to the kinegetic and fishing activities, hunting and related activities and still available in the lagoon and peri-lagoon areas of Venice.
