This is owned by the chaplain of Foss\u00f2 but is part of the Sargenti complex in the municipality of Camponogara. The little church on Crociata Street is, in fact, a small gem in the fraction of Campoverardo that is not part of the larger circuit of historical and architectural beauties found along the canal, in the Riviera del Brenta, but still hides 18th-century frescoes.<\/p>\n
Frescoes on marmorino with images of saints that can be seen on more humid days and now, partially brought to light, a cornice decoration that continuously wraps around the four walls, over thirty engravings depicting rosary crowns representing ex-votos, the ancient local votive tradition of the poor, and finally, the large central Venetian altar: these are just some of the magnificent secrets that the little church of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Campoverardo is slowly revealing. The work has indeed begun, authorized by the Superintendence, which is exciting the entire community of Camponogara and Foss\u00f2.<\/p>\n
The oratory, the last property belonging to the Mescalchin Mansion established in February 1831 to help the poor of Foss\u00f2 and a religious reference point of the time, is part of the monumental complex consisting of the 16th-century Manfredini palace and Villa Sargenti. Now, thanks to these initial works, the church of Our Lady of the Rosary is gaining new light.<\/p>\n
The Padua Curia seems willing to relinquish ownership so that the Giantin family can restore, in collaboration with the municipalities of Foss\u00f2 and Camponogara and local associations, a foundation and the Superintendence authorizes the complete restoration to fully illuminate the four walls entirely adorned with frescoes in delicate tones but still covered by the marmorino layer, the architectural structures rising to the ceiling and limited below by a garland with bows and, further down, the medallions with gold leaf frames and various saints.<\/p>\n
