A day by bike discovering the numerous Venetian Villas of the Riviera del Brenta!

The path from Stra to Malcontenta along the banks of the Naviglio Brenta is approximately 20 km long and offers not only the history and architecture of the villas but also glimpses of landscapes immersed in greenery, pleasant and evocative.

PROGRAM

In the morning, we depart from Stra passing in front of Villa Foscarini Rossia, home to the Footwear Museum, and Villa Pisani, the most prestigious and imposing residence of the Riviera del Brenta, surrounded by a park of about 10 hectares that also includes a famous labyrinth. We continue to Fiesso d'Artico where the most notable villas are located on Via Nazionale (Villa Recanati Zucconi and Villa Soranzo) while to the right stands the monumental Villa Barbariga. Arriving in Dolo, we stop at the ancient center called Isola del Maltempo with the Monumental Squero where boats were repaired.

Lunch break at the Molini di Dolo, a characteristic wine bar with a still-functioning watermill wheel.

The itinerary resumes after the stop heading towards Mira. Along the "lower" road, other villas can be admired, some restored, such as: Villa Brusoni Scalella, Villa Tito, Villa Venier, Villa Badoer Fattoretto with the Villano Museum. Upon reaching Mira, some of the most fascinating villas in the entire Riviera can be admired: Villa Widmann, home to the IAT, Villa Barchessa Valmarana, Villa Valier, Villa Querini Stampalia, and then Villa Allegri, Villa Mocenigo in Oriago di Mira. Until the final stop of our itinerary at Villa Foscari, known as la Malcontenta, the only Palladian Villa in the Riviera del Brenta, nestled on a bend of the river among weeping willows.
