Villa Foscarini Rossi

Every Saturday and Sunday, guided tours return from April until October at the Shoe Museum, to explore together the history of shoe design, fashion, and costume!

The Museum, housed inside the seventeenth-century manor Villa Foscarini, is a true corporate museum, preserving within it the production of the Rossimoda company, a business active since the 1950s and still operational in the municipality of Vigonza.

The collection spans about 700 square meters of the Villa and is displayed over two floors: the Hall on the ground floor and the first floor of the main residence.

On the ground floor, you can admire an interesting collection of ancient and ethnic footwear, acquired over time by Luigino Rossi during his countless business travels. The historical heritage recalls the prestigious origins of shoemaking in the Riviera del Brenta area, where skilled artisans achieved increasingly sophisticated production, able to meet the needs of demanding Venetian nobles, accustomed to traveling and willing to spend. The ethnic footwear, divided by continents, reflects how in every civilization shoes have represented, more than an accessory for protection, a language to present oneself to the world.

Particular features of the exhibition also include collaborations with foreign fashion houses: on the ground floor are those from England, America, and Germany (the so-called "Nordics"), while on the first floor are the contributions from the French, Italians, and Spaniards (called "Mediterraneans"), highlighting how their geographical origin influences a greater propensity for functional and practical aspects rather than aesthetic ones.

Upon confirmation, it is possible to visit the garden and the Foresteria, with a visit to the ballroom fully frescoed in the Baroque period.

The villa and the Shoe Museum will be closed on Easter Sunday and in August.

On days when events are booked in the Foresteria building, it will be closed to the public as well as the garden. It is suggested to contact the Ticket Office in advance for confirmation.

Guided tour cost: €10 per person (entrance ticket + guided tour)

It is suggested to confirm with the Ticket Office to verify the opening of the Park and the Foresteria.

RESERVATION
Reservation is not necessary, but it is requested to arrive at the Ticket Office at least 15 minutes before the guided tour begins.

Additionally, on Sunday, September 27, a guided tour will be planned of the refined mansion and the lush park, at the end of which a small convivial aperitif, a customary ritual of the organizing association, will await you.

The duration of the visit is about 1 hour and 30 minutes, with a meeting at 3:50 p.m. A contribution of €15 per participant is requested (€14 for members), and for children up to 12 years, the visit costs only €8, including guided tours of the interiors and exteriors of the villa and an aperitif on-site.
