Venice Marathon
Running race
The event features a certified distance running route that connects the Riviera del Brenta to the historic center of Venice.
The start is at Villa Pisani in Stra, the famous historic residence known as the queen of the Venetian Villas, which exceptionally opens the gates of its park to welcome the athletes.
The route initially develops along the Riviera del Brenta, an environment characterized by historical, cultural, and scenic suggestions, with numerous Venetian villas overlooking the waters of the river.
The path then passes through the center of Marghera and Mestre, passing by the multimedia 20th-century museum M9, recognizable by its buildings covered in multicolored tiles.
The race continues inside San Giuliano Park, which is also the starting point for a shorter route, before reaching Venice via the Liberty Bridge.
Upon entering the renewed port area, the competition reaches the historic center, where athletes run along the Giudecca Canal to Punta della Dogana, cross the Grand Canal on a floating bridge set up specifically for the event, and pass through St. Mark's Square, near the Campanile and the Doge's Palace, before concluding at Riva Sette Martiri.
