Route description
This 40-km itinerary is perfect for those who want to combine outdoor activity with the discovery of different points of interest across two areas: the Riviera del Brenta and the Miranese, also known as the Terra dei Tiepolo.
The route begins in the centre of Stra and follows the “lower road” that runs alongside the Naviglio Brenta, passing through Fiesso and Dolo before reaching the centre of Mira. Along this stretch of the Riviera del Brenta, you ride through lush, green surroundings, while admiring some of the area’s most beautiful villas: in Stra, Villa Foscarini Rossi and the majestic Villa Pisani; in Dolo, Villa Ferretti Angeli, Villa Badoer Fattoretto, Villa Tito, and Villa Velluti; and in Mira, the Barchessa of Villa Bonlini and the Mira Town Hall.
From Mira, continue along Via Argine Destro, which borders the Canale Taglio, until you reach the centre of Mirano—a lively village in the Terra dei Tiepolo and an ideal stop for a refreshing break. Get back on your bike and continue to Parco Belvedere, with its namesake villa, for a short visit before following the route towards Santa Maria di Sala, where you can admire the beautiful Villa Farsetti. From here, the route leads into the countryside and the ancient Roman grid system, returning to Stra along low traffic roads and canal banks.
