Thursday with the author
Literary meeting dedicated to the presentation of the novel "The Noises of the House" by Giovanni Alberti.
The work is inspired by the historical event of L'Argia, a melodrama by the Tuscan composer Antonio Cesti, which premiered at the court theater in Innsbruck and was composed in honor of Queen Christina of Sweden, who, after her abdication, moved to Rome.
Christina, a regular attendee of influential figures such as Cardinal Decio Azzolino and theologian Miguel de Molinos, provides the backdrop for a story interwoven with mysterious disappearances and nights disturbed by frightening noises.
The novel, set in the Baroque century, conveys through intense pages the contradictions of the era, such as the relationship between art and power and that between reality and representation.
The meeting is moderated by Annalisa Busato of the Friends of the Library.
