Charming historical residence from the 16th century
Villa Valier known as “The Guitar”: immersed in greenery along the Riviera del Brenta, just outside Mira, Villa Valier is a historic residence whose origins date back to the sixteenth century. The complex, surrounded by a centuries-old park, belonged to the noble Valier family, a dynasty of the Venetian patriciate that produced two doges for the Serenissima.
The villa is also known as “The Guitar”, a name that derives from a famous fresco depicting a woman with the musical instrument, which was once on the main facade and is now preserved at the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice.
The current appearance of the building reflects the transformations of the early nineteenth century desired by subsequent owners. The complex also includes a sixteenth-century oratory and a large eighteenth-century barchessa, which once housed spaces related to agricultural activities and today hosts events and initiatives.
