The Cathedral of San Rocco in Dolo originates from a church built around 1570.
With a Palladian influence, it features a single spacious nave topped by a ceiling adorned with paintings by C. Cedini, from the Tiepolo school. In the presbytery, we find canopies, paintings of the patron saint and the life of Christ, while a series of 18th-century sculptures dominate the pediment.
The tall bell tower, reminiscent of that of San Marco, dates back to the early 1800s.
In 1581 the church was erected as a parish church and, a few years later, the cemetery was founded. Between 1770 and 1776 the present church was built and consecrated in 1824. The bell tower was built between 1790 and 1836. Already in 1698 the church was called archpretale but this title was made official only in 1927 Every day from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM
