Discover the Villa: History and Architecture in the Heart of Veneto
Set in a picturesque historic park, this noble residence encompasses centuries of art, elegant events, and architectural prestige.
- A History of Nobility and Art: In the eighteenth century, the Villa was owned by the Contarini and Barbarigo families, who, along with the noblewoman Orsetta, transformed it into a venue for lavish parties and performances. It later passed to the Manin and Cipollato families, and was then gifted to the famous opera singer Adelaide Borghi-Mamo. After several ownership changes between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, it now belongs to the Veneto Region.
- The Architecture and the Barchesse: The main building, which has evolved over time from a square to a rectangular plan, is connected by elegant porticoes attributed to architect Carboni to the two imposing barchesse:
- West Barchessa: Houses three finely frescoed salons and a basement with vaulted ceilings.
- East Barchessa: Holds a frescoed salon, the ancient stables, and service rooms.
- The Historic Oratory: At the southeast corner of the park stands the evocative oratory, rebuilt in 1752.
